Here comes that craving again – for crispy, juicy Korean fried chicken? Today we’re bringing you to a hidden spot recommended by Korean locals: Dasarang (다사랑). It’s said to be more authentic than bbq Chicken and ChiKing, but without the hype (or the hefty price tag!).
Dasarang “다사랑” means “abundant love” or “lots of love” in Korean—something you’d love to taste in your food. A bit away from the tourist radar, this place has cozy indoor & outdoor seating, wallet-friendly prices and, more importantly, finger-licking flavor. Let’s dig in!

Korean Corn Dog

This popular Korean street food features a golden-brown, thick-crackling exterior that shatters with every bite. Inside, it’s usually filled with gooey mozzarella cheese (or a blend).
At Dasarang, they also offer a German version– corn dog with Wiener sausage.
The pillowy batter—a mix of cornmeal, wheat flour, and a touch of sugar—fries up into an insanely crispy, slightly sweet shell. Bite into it, with the crunch echoing, you’ll have the plump, smoky and perfectly salty German-style sausage.
Drizzled with ketchup and mayo, it’s sweet, savory, and crusty all at once.
These corn dogs exploded in popularity thanks to social media/eating show (mukbang) with that iconic cheese pull.
If you’d like it authentic, go for the molten cheese core – it’s rich, messy and, yes, a little bit guilty-pleasure-worthy.

Dasarang’s fried chicken comes in both boneless and bone-in options. For the boneless, you’ve got:
- Medium: Perfect for a solo feast
- Large: To share with friends… or if you’re really hungry.
While the menu doesn’t list salads, the staff are happy to prepare some fresh greens as a side when you ask for it.
Now let’s take a look at our top flavor picks
Spring Onion Chicken with Homemade Wasabi-Green Onion Sauce

This dish features crispy chicken, loaded with fresh, peppery leek, all drizzled with a house-made wasabi-green onion sauce.

The chicken is juicy, tender, and coated in an airy, shatteringly crisp batter.
The home-made wasabi-onion sauce is the real star here. Unlike the nose-burning punch of straight wasabi, this sauce is balanced—smooth, yet spicy enough to tingle, with a cool, peppery zing that cuts through the richness.
The fresh leek adds a bright, pungent kick.
Grab a piece topped with oniony strands, let the crisp batter shatter, then get hit with the juicy chicken, sharp leek, and cool-spicy sauce all at once – mind, blown.

Red Fried Chicken

Marked as the spiciest option on Dasarang’s menu, the Red Fried Chicken (10 pieces, bone-in) is a slow-burning flavor bomb that starts playful but ends with a lip-numbing punch.

The first biteis deceptive – “Oh, this isn’t so bad…”—before the smoky, umami-rich marinade pulls you in. Hints of cheesy depth add subtle creaminess and a charred edge teases your taste buds.
Keep going, and the heat builds—tingling, buzzing, exhilarating. Your lips go faintly numb, but the savory, deep thrill keeps you hooked, until you’re hit hard by the spice crescendo – dangerously addictive!
The juicy, bone-in cuts hold more marinade, so every bite is even bolder than boneless. Suggest pairing it with a cold beer for the exciting ride.

Garlic Fried Chicken

Now we need a delicious break from the heat – the golden, crispy chicken with deep, savory-sweet glaze.
The garlic flavor is more like “garl-ish” – no aggressive garlic punch, but a more soft, fragrant touch—think roasted garlic oil, not raw bite. This allows the sticky, glossy, honey-like glaze to take the center stage.

The sauce is rich, caramelized, and slightly smoky, like typical Korean BBQ glaze with a touch of honey. It clings to every nook of the craggy, crunchy batter.
The juicy, bone-in cuts stay extra moist, while the batter is shockingly crisp – soaked with sauce, yet no soggy spots!

It’s perfect for spice-weary eaters, or as a reset button after the numbing heat of the Red Fried Chicken.
Goma Fried Chicken – with Peperoni & Mayo Sauce

One of our absolute highlights, this flavor firework features golden, crispy chicken smothered in a fiery peperoni-mayo glaze and topped with dry chili flakes. Although it’s not labelled as spicy on the menu, it brings the heat just as hard as the Red Fried Chicken.

The peperoni-mayo sauce is bold, tangy, and packing serious heat. The peperoni bring a savory, smoky umami and real FIRE, while the mayo keeps it lightly creamy without drowning the crunch. The sprinkle of dry chili flakes adds a tingling, lingering heat. Each juicypiece is coated in toasted sesame (goma) for a nutty, aromatic finish.

It’s rich, intense, and totally moreish.
Spiced Golbaengi – Sweetwater Snails with Cold Noodles

One of Korea’s most unique and refreshing street food, this dish features sweet water snails (golbaengi) tossed in a sweet-spicy sauce with crisp veggies and slippery rice noodles.

The snails are plump, tender, and surprisingly sweet, with an almost-buttery chew and a clean, briny freshness – no “fishy” funk.
They’re glazed in a sticky-sweet sauce that’s like a tangier, lighter version of gochujang (a thick, deep-red Korean fermented chili paste).
This sauce has a honey-like sweetness with a hint of chili tingle, garlic, and a touch of vinegar.
Raw carrots, cucumber, cabbage, and spring onions add crunchy, pickle-like zing, while thin rice noodles slurp up the sauce, giving a slippery-cool texture.
It’s like a kimchi salad meets a seafood boil – good for: summer days, spicy-food lovers, or anyone craving something different.

Dasarang keeps it deliciously simple, with a menu that’s uncomplicated but full of flavor. It kicks off with solid warm-ups like Korean pancake (pajeon), mandu (dumplings), and other popular street foods including spicy rice cakes (tteokbokki) and slippery-savory glass noodles (japchae).
As well as their crispy, saucy fried chicken, the mains slay too. One is “Fire Chicken” – chicken smothered in chili sauce and molten cheese. It definitely caught our eye, and got us planning our next visit.

Thanks for the post! The wasabi spring onions flavor is awesome 👍
The location is a bit out of the way, and the menu mainly focuses on fried chicken, though they also have bulgogi and a few other dishes, all super tasty!
Tried them last year. It was just straight-up delicious!
I’ve seen a lot of people recommend Dasarang, so I gave it a try, but I wouldn’t recommend it. It wasn’t tasty and definitely not cheap. The red sauce had no flavor, the cheese was bland, everything was dry, and even the chicken skin wasn’t crispy.
You should give the restaurant Omonni a try. The highlight is their Yangnyeom sauce, it’s really good. The downside is that there aren’t many options of flavours.
Thanks for the recommendation! I used to go to BBQ a lot. They have tons of flavors, but their classic red sauces are pretty average. Plus, there’s always a long wait and parking is a pain. Now I’m so glad I found a new spot, and it really does look great!
Thanks for your post! When I’m gaming at home with music on and start feeling hungry, I almost always order their fried chicken. Eating while playing – Doesn’t get any better!
The fried chicken is great, but their drinks are honestly pretty average. The Korean beers on the last page, my friend who studied in Korea said they’ve never seen those there!
Thanks for sharing. I’ve tried the spicy-sweet, honey butter, spicy soy sauce, garlic, and cheese fried chicken so far, all of them were great. They used to come with extra rice cakes, bowls of rice, salad, and kimchi, but not anymore. Now the small side salad has to be ordered separately.
This is truly a dedicated fried chicken spot. There’s almost nothing on the menu but fried chicken. The side dishes are limited, and there are only a few main dishes. But the fried chicken comes in a variety of flavors, either classic or with different sauces. The chicken definitely tastes great.
They have quite a few great dishes, not sure why you recommended this cold snail salad. Try the cheesy spicy chicken udon instead. It’s super spicy but totally satisfying. Pair it with a Radler – now that’s the right way to do it.
Thanks for sharing. This place has the best fried chicken I’ve had in Frankfurt so far. The spicy soy sauce flavor is especially delicious, crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. I have no idea how they managed to fry it so perfectly!
The original flavor is probably the best thing at this restaurant. As for the other options… the red sauce doesn’t stand out at all, the cheese is bland and dry, and the chicken skin isn’t crispy enough. Then again, I’m not a fan of fried chicken that’s sticky and soggy on the outside, so that might be part of it.
By the way, are you still updating the German version? Or just the English ones now?
Thanks for your comment! The German version is coming too, just taking a bit more time.
Finally, a proper Korean fried chicken place on your blog, awesome!:)
