It’s a feast of different flavors and spices that provides a balanced meal – vegetables, legumes, eggs, lean meat, and rice. Healthy and delicious! All dishes are homemade and freshly prepared every day – and you can taste it.
Fresh herbs, onions, and all kinds of sauces can be served as accompaniments. There are so many options, that it’s often difficult not to overload your plate. Our tip: Try a little of everything first, and then you can always go back for more – it’s a buffet, after all.
In addition to the appealing and filling buffet, I’d like to introduce you to two more Indian classics – bhaji and samosa. They are served as side dishes to the buffet or à la carte dishes, demonstrating the hospitality of the owner and staff of this charming restaurant.
Bhajis are fried vegetable side dishes or snacks from the cuisine of the Indian subcontinent. They are often served as an appetizer or as an accompaniment to a main course. Bhajis consist of a variety of vegetables that are dipped in a spicy batter and deep-fried, giving them a crunchy texture and delicious flavor.
Bhajis have a crisp texture and intense flavor due to the combination of spicy aromas and delicate vegetables inside.
Making bhajis is relatively simple and requires only a handful of ingredients commonly used in Indian cuisine. These include vegetables of your choice (popular choices include onions, potatoes, spinach, eggplant, or cauliflower), flour, spices (such as turmeric, cumin, coriander, chili, garam masala), baking powder, salt, water for batter, and oil for frying. The vegetable mixture is dipped in the batter and fried until crisp and golden brown. After draining, the bhajis are served hot with a yogurt-mint dip or a spicy chutney.
Samosas are a type of filled pastry that originated in Indian cuisine but are popular in many other countries, especially in South Asia and the Middle East. They typically consist of a thin pastry shell filled with a savory filling and then fried or baked. The filling can vary by region and taste, but typically includes potatoes, peas, spices such as turmeric, cumin, coriander, and garam masala, and sometimes meat such as minced meat or chicken. The samosas at the Taste of India are vegetarian and have a spicy and savory taste with a crispy pastry shell that pairs well with the hot and aromatic filling of potatoes, peas and spices.
If you love Indian food and want a delicious, hassle-free lunch or dinner at a great price, then visit Taste of India. And if you’re lucky, there might even be a special dish of the day, depending on the chef’s whim.
